One week at a time: 547 children by July 2026

Our first monthly letter to friends in the US: this year in numbers, one week of camp up close, and what $120 does for a child.

One week at a time: 547 children by July 2026

2026 in numbers

Every Restoration session is one week at Your Camp, in the village of Rzhavintsi, Chernivtsi region, in western Ukraine.

From January to July 2026 we held 7 sessions for 547 children. That is one session each month from January to June, plus a separate week for children from the Berizka children's shelter.

Before that came 12 sessions for 708 children in 2025 and 11 sessions for 704 children in 2024. Together: 30 week-long sessions and 1,959 children in 2024-2026.

The children who come to us are orphans and half-orphans, children of fallen defenders of Ukraine and of veterans, children from frontline areas, and children forced to leave their homes.

Six of the seven 2026 sessions already have a video report, and the May one is being prepared. They are open to anyone on our 2026 report page. Children's names and personal details never go public. Full participant lists and primary documents are shared with institutional donors and partners on request.

One week up close: "Life Is Not a Game"

From June 30 to July 6, 143 children and 61 mentors lived together at camp. The mentors were instructors, psychologists and volunteers. The session had a playful name: "Life Is Not a Game, but Very Similar 2."

The theme of the week was "Pawn," and its thread was the Bible story of Joseph. A boy thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, and in the end used to save a whole people.

For children who have lived through war, that is not an abstract story. It says something they need to hear: what happened to you does not decide who you will become.

Every day there were 16 workshops to choose from. Art therapy, soap making and cup painting. Rock climbing, water volleyball and "free fall." Some children baked Belgian waffles for the first time in their lives. Others stood on a climbing wall for the first time.

The kitchen served 612 servings a day, 4,284 over the week. The team started each morning with prayer, and each evening the children praised God together.

One child from that session put the whole week in one line: "Camp has everything that's missing from ordinary life."

What $120 does

$120 is the full cost of one week of Restoration for one child.

It covers the trip to camp and back, a bed and a week of meals.

It covers the people. Psychologists who work with children one on one and in groups, and mentors who stay close for the whole week.

And it covers the week itself: art therapy, sports, free fall and the climbing wall, walks in nature, creative workshops and spiritual meetings.

What's next, and how to help

The 2026 figures above run through July. That is the latest official count, and newer sessions will be added to the 2026 report page together with their video reports.

This letter is new, too. Once a month we will publish a short one like it here: photos, numbers and the stories behind them.

If you live in the US, you can give through Outpost Centers International (OCI), a 501(c)(3) organization, so your gift is tax-deductible. Your Help UA is registered in California, and while our own 501(c)(3) status is pending, OCI processes US gifts for us.

If you would like to give one child that week, $120 is enough. Give through OCI and choose the Your Help UA ministry. Thank you for standing with these children.
