The Power On team is starting a new week in the schools of Chernivtsi region. From Monday to Thursday — 5 schools, four different topics: from “5 Love Languages” for older students to HIV/AIDS prevention at a military sports lyceum.
The schedule was created based on schools’ requests — each school chooses the topic that fits its students. This week — a wide range: relationships, bullying, addictions, health.
Schedule for May 25–28, 2026
Monday, 05.25 — Lyceum No. 3, Chernivtsi (13A Zalozetskoho St.)
Topic: “5 Love Languages” — in the “Relationships” block. High school students. Teens learn how they express and receive love: words of affirmation, time, touch, gifts, acts of service — and why mismatched love languages often become the basis of conflict in relationships.
Tuesday, 05.26 — Rynhatska Gymnasium
Topic: “Smoking. Cigarettes.” How nicotine addiction works, why “trying it just once” does not really exist, what happens to the body after the first cigarette — and how to say “no” in a group where everyone else has already started.
Wednesday, 05.27 — Gymnasium No. 16, Chernivtsi
Two topics in one day: “Bullying” and “5 Love Languages.” How bullying differs from conflict, why witnesses have more influence than the victims themselves, and at the same time — healthy ways of expressing attachment.
Thursday, 05.28 — Lyceum No. 19, Chernivtsi
Topic: “Bullying.” How to recognize what is happening to you or nearby; what to do if you do not want to get involved; how to stop it when it has already become dangerous.
Thursday, 05.28 — Chernivtsi Military Sports Lyceum
Topic: “HIV/AIDS.” Basic facts about transmission routes, statistics for Ukraine, why stereotypes like “it won’t happen to me” are the biggest risk factor. A separate adapted presentation for a military sports audience.
Why this is not “just another lecture”
Each topic is 45 minutes of dialogue, without moralizing. The speakers are professionally trained volunteers. The format is the same for all topics: brief theory → group discussion → Kahoot quiz on phones → a small prize.
The teen formulates the answer to the question “why this is not worth it for me” on their own. The adult does not speak for them — the teen speaks, the adult asks questions.
“Schools invite us back for repeat sessions themselves — that is the best sign that the format works.”
All classes are free for schools. The program is funded by donations to the foundation: $5 covers one child for a full cycle (5 classes × 45 min). Support Power On — the fastest way to expand the geography next school year.
